A Fair Play lecture was successfully held on 8 June at Prodromos Primary School in Larnaca, following an invitation from the school’s administration.

The lecture was attended by students from Years 4, 5 and 6. Speakers included Fair Play Ambassador 2025/26 and Vice President of the Cyprus Olympians Association, Dr. Andros Karapatakis, OLY, as well as Fair Play Ambassador 2024, Mr. Giorgos Chrysostomou.

Dr. Karapatak presented the educational animated Fair Play video, suitable for students from primary through secondary education, while Mr. Chrysostomou spoke about the fundamental principles of fair play, respect and good sportsmanship.

Μετά τη διάλεξη, ακολούθησε συζήτηση με τους μαθητές και στη συνέχεια το πρακτικό μέρος της δράσης. Δύο ομάδες του σχολείου αγωνίστηκαν στον τελικό του εσωτερικού τουρνουά, σε έναν αγώνα που ολοκληρώθηκε με νικητή το «δίκαιο παιχνίδι», αναδεικνύοντας το πραγματικό νόημα του Fair Play.

Following the lecture, students took part in a discussion before attending the practical part of the event, which featured the final match of the school’s internal tournament. Two school teams competed in a spirited contest where Fair Play emerged as the true winner, reflecting the values of respect, integrity and sportsmanship that lie at the heart of sport.

At the end of the match, commemorative awards were presented to all participating students, while refreshments were offered to all children through the generous sponsorship of the Laiko Cosmos Trading company.
Initiatives such as these play an important role in passing on the values of Fair Play and Olympism to the younger generation.
