It was with great pleasure that the Cyprus Olympians Association (K.E.S.O.A.) supported the commemorative event “40 Years of Cyprus–Greece Interstate Cooperation in Sport”, organised by the Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA), marking four decades of a shared sporting journey, cooperation and contribution.

The event was held under the High Patronage of H.E. the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, and brought together individuals who have contributed, and continue to contribute, to the development and advancement of sport in Cyprus and Greece.

Attending the event were the President of K.E.S.O.A., Mr Costas Papacostas OLY, Vice-President Mr Andros Karapatakis OLY, General Secretary Mr Panicos Evripidou OLY and members of the Board of Directors, as well as the President of the Hellenic Olympians Association, Ms Voula Kozompoli OLY. The event was also attended by Cypriot and Greek Olympians, members of the “Demetrios Vikelas” programme and prominent figures from the sporting communities of Cyprus and Greece.

During the event, the President of the Republic of Cyprus presented K.E.S.O.A. President Mr Costas Papacostas OLY with the World Olympians Association (WOA) Certificate of Membership 2024–2028, while also extending his congratulations to K.E.S.O.A.

It was a particular pleasure to have so many Cypriot Olympians present, giving us the opportunity to come together once again, share memorable moments and honour those who form an integral part of Cyprus’ Olympic history.

K.E.S.O.A. once again extends its warmest thanks to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides; the Minister of Education, Sport and Youth, Dr Athena Michaelidou; the President of the Cyprus Sports Organisation, Mr Yiannis Ioannou; and all members of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Sports Organisation for their support and longstanding contribution to Cypriot sport.
