On 19 November 2025, Mr Costas Papacostas OLY, President of the Cyprus Olympians Association (Κ.Ε.Σ.Ο.Α.), visited Frederick University as a guest speaker for the lecture of the course History and Sociology of Sport.

With his deep knowledge and experience, Mr Papacostas spoke about the development of Cypriot sport, the role of Cyprus’ Olympians, and the country’s position within the European sporting environment. He highlighted that sport cannot exist without athletes and that its future lies in the new generation of sport scientists. The students were truly fortunate to hear from someone who lives and serves sport with genuine passion.

Honouring the spirit of giving back, the Cyprus Olympians Association continues to share knowledge, experiences, and the values of Olympism with the next generation.
