Cyprus Olympian Charalambos Panagidis OLY took part in the 15th Global Coaches Conference (ICCE), which was held in Athens from 20–23 November, representing the Cyprus Olympians at the conference.

The conference brought together leading experts from the international coaching community, aiming to exchange knowledge, showcase modern practices and discuss issues pertaining to integrity and the advancement of the sports environment.

In his opening address, the Secretary-General for Sport of Greece, Mr. Giorgos Mavrotas, emphasised the importance of ethics in sport, noting that the mindset of “victory at any cost” has no place in modern coaching philosophy.

At the conference several key thematic sessions were presented, among them:

  • Essential Coaching Leadership Skills, with presentations by Greek Olympians Sofia Papadopoulou and Chrysa Biskitzi
  • Ethics in Sports, focusing on the significance of sporting integrity
  • Contemporary scientific and practical approaches that enhance the coach’s role as educator and bearer of values

Charalambos Panagidis OLY stated that he left the conference with new ideas, effective approaches and a clearer picture of the role of leadership and sporting integrity in modern coaching.
