On October 7, 2025, Mr. Costas Papacostas, President of the Cyprus Olympians Association, together with Mr. Damianos Chatzidamianou, President of the Friends of the Cyprus Olympians Association, visited the Embassy of Japan to meet His Excellency Mr. Yoshio Yamawaki on his last day of service in Cyprus.

During the meeting, they expressed their heartfelt appreciation for His Excellency’s friendship and his kind support for Olympians.

A symbolic gift (map of Cyprus) was presented as a gesture of gratitude for his time and warm collaboration.

Having served in Cyprus for more than two and a half years, His Excellency leaves behind fond memories and a genuine connection.

We sincerely thank His Excellency and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavours.
