The Cyprus Olympians Association held a meeting with the President of the Democratic Rally (DISY), Ms Annita Demetriou, as part of its ongoing engagement with institutional stakeholders.

Representing the Cyprus Olympians Association were President Mr Costas Papacostas, OLY, General Secretary Mr Panicos Evripidou, OLY, and Chairman of the Friends of Olympians, Mr Damianos Hadjidamianou.

Ms Demetriou welcomed the Olympians and emphasised that they are a strong and integral part of Cyprus’ sporting movement, while highlighting their particularly important role in educating and inspiring young people through the Olympic values.

“The Democratic Rally and I personally will remain steadfast supporters of the work of the Olympians,” added Ms Demetriou.

Ms Demetriou was then presented with the Association’s three publications, which document Cyprus’ Olympic sporting history, as well as the contribution of individuals and organisations that have supported, and continue to support, Cypriot Olympians throughout the years.

The Cyprus Olympians Association continues its dialogue with all institutional stakeholders, with the aim of supporting and strengthening Cypriot Olympians.
