A highly successful meeting took place today between the Cyprus Olympians Association (Κ.Ε.Σ.Ο.Α.) and the President of the Cyprus Sports Organization (K.O.A.), Mr. Yiannis Ioannou, the Vice President of K.O.A. Mrs. Kalli Hatziiosif, as well as members of the Organisation’s Board of Directors. The Cyprus Olympians Association (Κ.Ε.Σ.Ο.Α.) was represented by its President, Mr. Costas Papacostas, its Secretary General, Mr. Panikos Evripidou, and members of the Board, along with the President of the Friends of the Cyprus Olympians Association, Mr. Damianos Hadjidamianou.
During the meeting, Mr. Ioannou warmly welcomed the delegation of the Cyprus Olympians Association and expressed deep appreciation for the enduring contribution of Cyprus Olympians to the nation’s athletic development and the promotion of Olympic values. He reaffirmed KOA’s continued support for the Olympians, recognizing them as a vital part of Cyprus’ sporting ecosystem.
On behalf of the Cyprus Olympians Association, President Mr. Papacostas extended his sincere thanks to the leadership of K.O.A. and, by extension, to the Government of the Republic of Cyprus for its consistent support of the Olympians. He also reaffirmed the association’s steadfast commitment to remain at the forefront in promoting ethics in sport and safeguarding the values that define it.
The meeting unfolded in a spirit of mutual respect and constructive dialogue, setting a strong foundation for the ongoing collaboration between the two bodies. At the heart of the discussion was a shared vision: to elevate the role of Olympians not only as elite athletes, but as enduring role models of integrity and living embodiments of Olympic values for generations to come.
